PGE EJ1 periodically surveys the attitude of residents of the site communes towards an NPP built in their vicinity. The results of the most recent surveys show that as much as 69% of residents that live in the site communes support the construction of an NPP in Poland, up from 67% last year.
PGE EJ 1, the Company responsible for execution of the investment in the first Polish NPP, will perform full site characterisation work in two sites in the Pomeranian voivoideship: „Lubiatowo-Kopalino” (Choczewo commune, Słajszewo and Jackowo villages) and „Żarnowiec” (Krokowa and Gniewino communes).

PGE EJ 1, the company set up to build the first Polish nuclear power plant, has submitted an application to the General Director for Environmental Protection for issuing a Decision on Environmental Conditions and and an application for specifying the scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report. The Company added the Project Information Sheet as an attachment to the application. The documents submitted constitute a basis for initiating the environmental impact assessment procedure which is prerequisite in the process of the selection of a safe site for the NPP
