PGE EJ 1, the company set up to build the first Polish nuclear power plant, has submitted an application to the General Director for Environmental Protection for issuing a Decision on Environmental Conditions and and an application for specifying the scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report. The Company added the Project Information Sheet as an attachment to the application. The documents submitted constitute a basis for initiating the environmental impact assessment procedure which is prerequisite in the process of the selection of a safe site for the NPP
The Company is conducting work, together with its Technical Advisor, the AMEC Foster Wheeler company, on the revision of the assumptions and possible optimization of the general project schedule, involving, inter alia:
PGE EJ1, the company set up to prepare the investment and construction process of the first Polish nuclear power plant, is finalizing the next, important phase of preparations for the selection of the location. The Company has drawn up a Project Information Sheet (PIS) – an indispensable document for running the Environmental Impact Assessment procedure for the investment – and intends to submit an application within the next few days for the issuing of a Decision on Environmental Conditions and an application for the specification of the scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report. Representatives of PGE EJ1 discussed the assumptions of the PIS with the residents of the location communes at information meetings held in Kopalino and Brzyno on 27-28 July
PGE EJ 1 has given notice of termination of the contract it has concluded with WorleyParsons, the Site Characterisation Contractor for the construction of the first Polish nuclear power plant. Site characterisation will be continued relying on the pool of resources provided by PGE Capital Group and an experienced industry consultant.
